Side Table Picks

I probably get atleast one email a week specifically asking where I shop for side tables. Truth be told, these days I shop Craigslist more than anything, but here are some under $175 that I have bookmarked.

I also spotted these awesome tables at Overstock, very Restoration Hardware esque ( reclaimed wood look )...comes in sofa tables, coffee tables and end tables, and great prices.

PB knockoffs at Marshalls

Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving! I have a lot to be thankful for!

I went to Marshalls tonight and found these two Pottery Barn knockoffs there. The reindeer was only $17 and the jingle bell swag was under $20 ( cant remember exactly and PB doesnt sell it this year . ) Pottery Barn's reindeer is $149....

I go to Marshals once a week ( usually just to check their inventory ) but tonight I ran away with some crazy crystal serving spoon and fork for $4.99, really beautiful wrapping paper for $2.99, and My husband scored Volcom and Burton swag for $15 total. I cant get enough.

My faux tree deal

This was my favorite find for the month of November. I got this $220 Tree for $30. yes thirty.
I bought it out of the window of an antique store, even though the lights were half dead. The best part?
Well I got home with it and ended up taking about 5 days to take down the lights. It was so complicated and every SINGLE lightbulb was clipped ON to the branches. Between my husband and I, it took 5 days and many bandaids later. So we ended up spending $17 more on lights, but all in all, a good purchase.

We'll be getting our "real" tree this weekend :)

Ikea Holiday

Lanterns $14.99 ( they remind me of legos )
Red Tealights ( scented and non ) $2.99
Fabric Gift Bags $2.99 ( endless uses for these..)
3 storage tins $7.99 ( cookies for your neighbors? teachers? or gifts )

Potted Amaryllis $9.99  ( i'd take these over poinsettia ANYDAY )

Ok these arent really Christmasy, unless you're thinkin the 3 wisemen route, however I think they'd be cute in a lil girls room.
3 Bottles for $9.99
They also carry large amounts of wrapping paper for very cheap, along with ornate paper napkins, plates and plenty of new fabrics.

Toddler room

While this was goin on outside...
I got this done ( husband measured, I did the rest )
Board and Batten in my daughters room.
This was the process

1. We had to prime this wall with OIL BASED PRIMER, because of the stripes we had to cover up. It's incredibly messy and smelly ( my tip is to put in drops of vanilla in it...yes it works ) but was so worth it.

2. I bought "whitewood" 1x3x6 boards from Lowes. They were cheap and I had the Lowes dude cut it down to 5 feet instead of 6.

This is the room now, it's ALMOST done. I need to add more puffs/hanging things in that corner and switch up lamps for that table. And obviously fix that middle mirror that is bugging me. Not sure I'll keep the stripes on the other wall or what. And the wall above the board and batten will be painted. I primed the boards, and painted with a high gloss pure white paint ( took less than a quart )

The bed was $60 w/mattress
The bedding is Target $70 ( west elm inspired )
Dresser Ikea Hemnes
Side mirror table, Target
Mirrors, table chair, mannequin  were in her first nursery...remember?
Like I said, still stuff to do, but all in all, this project cost under $75, and took 2.5 hours to do ( with paint and primer and nailing and measuring )

Battle of the Pom Pom

Pom Pom Throws seem to be everywhere these days, or atleast they've been standing out to me.
Here are some comparable options:

Pier One's Fuzzy Ivory Pom Pom Throw $44 ( polyester )
West Elm's Pom Pom Throw $47 on special (acrylic/wool/nylon)
PB Teen's Pom Pom Organic Throw $79 ( organic cotton )

Between these 3, I'd actually choose the middle one from West Elm :) It's VERY plush and only a few bucks more than the Pier One, one.
